How to apply

MyAlberta Emergency Benefits lets Albertans apply online for emergency benefits.

Before you begin

To apply online, you need:

a personal email
an Alberta.ca Account
a bank account at a bank that offers Interac e-Transfers
a valid Alberta driver's licence or identification card.

Steps to apply

Start your application online

Sign in with an Alberta.ca Account and start your application online. Before you apply, make sure your email address in your Alberta.ca Account is correct.

Call to complete your application

Call the Income Support Contact Centre to complete your application, or follow the instructions provided to you by a worker at an Alberta Supports Centre. You will need to answer questions about your income and assets to determine if you are eligible.

Receive Interac e-Transfer

If you are eligible for emergency benefits, you will receive an email transfer (Interac e-Transfer). You can accept the Interac e-Transfer to your bank account.
